Terms of service
In effect from 2026-10-21.
These terms are the agreement between you and VASILCHEV LTD for the use of
HandyBits: the app at https://my.handybits.app, the share links it makes, the
assistant access it offers, and this website. By creating an account, including
a guest account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use HandyBits.
1. Who offers the service
VASILCHEV LTDZhk. Musagenitsa, bl. 98B, vh. B, et. 5
1500 Sofia, Bulgaria
Company registration number: 175309645
General questions: hifive@handybits.app. Reports of abuse, and objections to a decision we took about your content or account: abuse@handybits.app.
2. The service, and that it is a beta
HandyBits is a personal capture library. You save text, links, code, images, files, audio and video as Bits; the service classifies and files them, lets you search them, and lets you share one through a link.
HandyBits is in beta. Features can change or be withdrawn, the service can be unavailable, and it is provided as it is. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
3. Who may use it
You must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for what is done through your account and for keeping your sign-in and your access tokens to yourself.
- A guest account lets you try the app. It cannot make a share link or an access token, and signing out deletes it and everything in it.
- A named account, made by continuing with Google, keeps your library and can share and create access tokens.
4. Your content
What you save stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, to show it to you, to show a Bit to whoever holds a share link you made for it, and to give it to an assistant you connected. You confirm that you have the right to save and to share what you put in.
5. What is not allowed
You may not use HandyBits to store or to share content that is illegal, of any kind. That includes, without being limited to:
- material that sexually exploits or abuses children;
- content that incites violence or hatred, or that threatens or harasses a person;
- malware, phishing pages, and anything meant to break into or damage a system;
- content that infringes someone else's copyright, trade mark or other right;
- other people's personal data that you have no right to hold or to publish;
- fraud, spam, and content that deceives the people it is sent to.
You also may not:
- try to get around the limits and checks described in section 7;
- use the service to attack it, another user or anyone else;
- use automated means to create accounts or share links in bulk.
6. What happens when the rules are broken
We do not inspect the content of a Bit that is not shared. We become aware of forbidden content through a report on a share link, and through the checks the service runs on a link when it is made and when it is opened.
When we become aware of it, we may, without prior notice:
- remove the share link, and prevent that Bit from being shared again;
- suspend the account, so that it can no longer be used;
- delete the account and everything in it.
We report to the competent authorities where the law requires it, and may do so where the law permits it. Where a report to the authorities is made or is likely, we suspend before we delete, so that what the report relies on is kept.
We tell the owner of the account what we did and why, unless the law forbids it. If you believe a decision was wrong, write to abuse@handybits.app and a person will look at it again.
7. Sharing, and the limits the service enforces
- A share link is public to whoever holds it. Anyone with the link can open what you shared, without an account, until you revoke the link or it expires. Share pages are kept out of search engines, but a link you send can be forwarded.
- Shared links are checked. A web address in a shared Bit is looked up against lists of known malware and phishing, and a link to a listed address is not made or stops opening.
- Programs cannot be shared. Executable files, installers and scripts can be stored but not shared.
- Private and Hidden Bits cannot be shared. A Bit you have marked Private or Hidden gets no share link, and a link made before stops opening.
- Anyone can report a share link. Reports are read by a person. A link can be removed after a report, and its owner is told the reason.
- Files have a size limit. A file may be up to 100 MB. During the beta, a file larger than about 32 MB may fail to upload.
- Requests are limited. Saving, uploading, sharing, reporting and creating access tokens are each limited in how often they can be repeated.
- Sharing can be paused. We can stop all sharing for everyone for a time if that is needed to stop abuse.
8. Connecting an assistant
You can let an AI assistant reach your library with an access token. A token either reads only or reads and writes, always expires — after 90 days unless you choose otherwise, and never later than 365 days — and can never delete or share a Bit, or see one you have marked Private or Hidden. You can revoke it at any time. You are responsible for which assistant you connect and for what it does with what it reads; its provider's terms apply to that, not ours.
9. Security
Your Bits are encrypted in transit and at rest. They are not end-to-end encrypted: the service can read them in order to store, show and share them. Do not save something that must stay unreadable to everyone but you.
10. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account in the app at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone: your Bits, files, share links and access tokens are removed, and every link you shared stops opening. We can end the agreement as section 6 describes, or by closing the service, in which case we tell you beforehand where we can.
11. Our responsibility to you
We provide HandyBits with reasonable care, and during the beta we give no promise that it will be available, free of faults, or that nothing will be lost. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data that you could have kept a copy of, or for what someone does with something you shared. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including for intent or gross negligence, or the rights you have as a consumer.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top says when the text you are reading took effect. When a change matters to how you use the service, the sign-in screen links to the new text, and by continuing to use HandyBits after that date you accept it.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Bulgaria, and the courts of Sofia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your own country and may bring a claim in its courts.
14. Privacy
What we do with personal data is in the privacy policy.
